Tori Spelling Honors Mom Candy Spelling on Birthday: I’m Grateful to Be Your Daughter!

Tori Spelling Honors Mom Candy Spelling on Birthday: I'm Grateful to Be Your Daughter!

Throughout Tori Spelling’s very bad 2023, many of her fans (and critics) have repeated the same sentiment.

Perhaps, if things were better between Tori and her mom, life wouldn’t be so challenging right now.

Candy has said that she’ll support Tori amidst her divorce. But mother and daughter have had a strained relationship for many years.

This week, Tori posted a glowing tribute to her mom — declaring how proud she is to be her daughter.

On Wednesday, September 20, Candy Spelling turned 78 years old. Tori took notice.

“Happy Birthday Mommy aka @candyspelling …” she began her Instagram tribute’s caption alongside a series of photos.

“I love you,” Tori expressed. “Grateful to be your daughter.”

“Some of my happiest memories involve laughing so hard with you that we were happy crying uncontrollably,” Tori recalled.

“And you doing your LOL wheeze….” she specified. “@randyspelling you know the one!”

Tori added: “Usually also involving tickle fests and food (maybe ice cream) fights.”

“I never take for granted the beautiful life you raised Rand and I in with Dad,” Tori phrased oddly.

“And, I am such a resilient and strong human,” she praised.

Tori continued: “And I owe so much of that to you.”

“Strong women run in our family,” Tori asserted.

“I’m passing it on,” she then announced. Presumably, to her own daughters, Stella and Hattie.

“Loved and still love watching horror films in bed with you,” Tori concluded. “Always. Xo”

For years, Tori and Candy weren’t just in a state of conflict but were straight-up estranged.

It seems that there was trouble before the passing of late TV magnate Aaron Spelling. But his death, and the inheritance issue that followed, made things worse.

It is believed that Candy inherited around $600 million from her late husband. Tori received about $800,000. That’s a hefty amount of cash compared to the average person, but it’s no fortune.

Clearly, there was a lot behind their conflict. Resentment, disagreements, and hurt feelings. There are probably aspects to their erstwhile estrangement that the public has no idea about. That’s life.

However, things have been improving.

This year, we’ve seen clear signs that Candy is Team Tori amidst her divorce from Dean.

While some reports claim that Candy is prepared to fund all of Tori’s family’s needs in the immediate future, others wonder if that’s real.

Some even believe that someone close to Tori is planing these reports to pressure Candy into making them true.

Either way, we hope that Tori’s days of living in an RV with her 5 kids are in the past. That is just … too many people for any RV of any size.

This week, we got a lesson in Drag 101 from Trixie, we caught up with Canada’s Drag Race season one champion Priyanka, and get a rating of every Drag Race queen-testant from Bob and Monét. Let’s get this party started and let’s bring it to the runway!

If you’ve ever been curious about giving drag a try, this video is must-see. Trixie helps you get started with tips, tales and makeup essentials.

All-Star Morgan McMichaels takes on drag protestors (and other blights on society like Karens and flat-earthers) in her parody of Kylie Minogue’s “Padam Padam.” Enjoy “Urdum Urdum.”

Worried about the Sriracha shortage? Worry not, as there are a lot of dupes on the market and Rock M Sakura and Queen of the Universe’s Militia Scunt taste them all and tell you which one will satisfy your spicy cravings.

We haven’t seen much of Kimora Blac lately, but, thankfully, this gorgeous queen is back with a new GRWM video. This time she showcases products from Makeup By Mario, Anastasia Beverly Hills and Huda Beauty.

It always seems like Trixie and Katya spin-off on random topics on “UNHhhh” but their compilations of the most random, unhinged moments are my favorite episodes – and this one is certainly no exception.

Well, told you it was a quick update! We have interviews with Honey Davenport and Alaska heading your way so stay tuned. We’ll leave you with Honey and Alaska’s fierce musical collab, “Mighty Legendary.” Until next week, stay safe, stay healthy, support the queens and say LOVE!

Usher to headline Super Bowl LVIII halftime show – Socialite Life

Usher 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Radhika Jones - Arrivals

Usher will be the halftime performer for the Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show in Las Vegas on Feb. 11, 2024. The eight-time Grammy Award winner headlines the halftime show for the first time in his illustrious career, and it will be seen on CBS and will stream on Paramount+.

“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” Usher said in a statement. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”

Usher has had a residency in Las Vegas since 2021. There are no further details about what songs Usher will perform or if any other artists will join him.

Usher has previously appeared on the halftime show as a guest in Super Bowl XLV that The Black Eyed Peas headlined. He told Access Hollywood earlier this year that he’d “be a fool” to turn down the halftime show if offered.

“I think I have a catalog that obviously speaks for itself, so to be able to celebrate on that day, it’s obviously about football, but everybody really anticipates the performance,” Usher said. Seeing Michael Jackson perform and recently seeing Snoop [Dogg] and [Dr.] Dre … seeing so many incredible performances like Prince… it has always been kind of a bucket list.”

Jay-Z handpicked Usher for the performance. Jay-Z’s Roc Nation has executive produced the show since partnering with the NFL in 2019.

“Usher is the ultimate artist and showman. Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he’s been charting his own unique course. Beyond his flawless singing and exceptional choreography, Usher bares his soul,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “His remarkable journey has propelled him to one of the grandest stages in the world. I can’t wait to see the magic.”

The first halftime involving Roc Nation was Super Bowl LIV which featured Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, and Emme Muniz. The Weeknd followed, with Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige headlining the L.A. Super Bowl following the 2021 season. Rihanna performed at halftime of Super Bowl LVII.

Last year’s Super Bowl halftime performance by Rihanna was also the first sponsored by Apple Music.

Gisele Bündchen opens up about contemplating suicide as a young model – Socialite Life

Gisele Bundchen

Gisele Bundchen has admitted that she struggled with her mental health at the height of her modeling career and even contemplated taking her own life.

The Brazilian supermodel, 43, opened up about having suicidal thoughts and feeling panicked during the height of her career on CBS’ Sunday Morning.

“I was in tunnels; I couldn’t breathe. And then, I started being in studios, and I felt, like, suffocated,” she said.

Bündchen recalled one particular moment of difficulty. “I lived on the ninth floor, and I had to go up the stairs because I was afraid I would be stuck on the elevator, and I’d be hyperventilating. … Because you know, when you can’t breathe even when the windows are open, you feel like, ‘I don’t want to live like this,’ ” the model said.

When CBS host Lee Cowan asked if Bündchen ever thought about jumping from her floor, she said, “Yeah. For a second, because you’re like, ‘I can’t (do this)!’”

To cope with the pressure during her earlier career, Bündchen said she started to view herself as “her,” the persona modeling agencies hired, and “Gisele,” her real personality.

“They weren’t hiring Gisele; they didn’t even know me,” she said. “They just liked the way I looked and they liked the way my body looked in clothes. … And now, I get to be me.”

Alcohol, cigarettes and caffeine contributed to her stress at the time, things she eventually reduced or quit.

Bündchen added: “I just think now I’m allowing myself to come out as Gisele versus as ‘her. I don’t have to play a character. I can be me. And that’s liberating.”

Today, the Brazillian model says she’s happy to have taken a backseat from the fashion industry. “Before I was more surviving, and now I’m living, which is different,” she said.

Bündchen previously discussed contemplating suicide and struggling with panic attacks in her 2018 memoir Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life.

“Things can be looking perfect on the outside, but you have no idea what’s really going on,” the supermodel told People in an interview at the time. “I felt like maybe it was time to share some of my vulnerabilities and it made me realize, everything I’ve lived through, I would never change because I think I am who I am because of those experiences.”

If you or someone you know is contemplating suicide, call or text the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
